Tiana Hawver shares her journey of being found by her birth family 46 years after being placed for adoption. In 2019, close to 50 years after being adopted, Tiana created a documentary on reconnecting with her birth family. While it filled in pieces that she didn't realize were missing, it also opened up the realization that even as an infant, there was still something to be faced--trauma. It is something that all adoptees carry with them, regardless of their age at the time of adoption or being adopted into a "good family." Following the screening of the documentary will be a panel discussion on closed and open adoptions, trauma, and adoptee reunions. ***Please note that this event may be triggering for some attendees due to the topics being discussed.
